Exciting! Scary! Exhilarating! Risky! Ecstatic! Satisfying! These are just a few words to describe the range of emotions that most first time homebuyers experience. After all, most purchases we make in life extrude a certain amount of emotion from us. Whether it’s a hot dog from Rutt’s Hut or a new car, there is usually some degree of heightened feelings we derive both before and after our purchase.

My goal is to make this experience a positive one that you will look back at with fond memories. Now sharpen your pencil, and get ready to begin.

  1. Make an appointment with your bank or mortgage company to get pre-qualified and review lending programs that are available for you. If you need referrals I will be happy to provide them upon request.
  2. Make a list of your three most important needs.
  3. Make a list of your three most important wants.
  4. Make a list of communities that you may be interested in living.
  5. Make an appointment to sit down with me and create a plan to begin viewing homes that meet your criteria.
  6. Be ready to shop. You may want to want to wear shoes that you can easily slip off and on. Many sellers will request buyers to remove their shoes for either sanitary or cultural reasons.
  7. Bring a check. You want to be prepared to make an offer when we find your "DREAM HOME."
  8. Interview Real Estate Attorneys. My recommendation is to use an Attorney who focuses on Real Estate. It will save you a lot of time and stress if you retain a professional that knows all the ins and outs of transaction law. If you need referrals, I will be happy to provide them.
  9. After an offer is accepted, the Attorney Review Process will begin.
  10. Please refer to “The Home Sale Process” tab on this website.
